In high school, I was an alternate wrestler for a state-winning team. I was skinny, cutting to 126 (my lowest) during my senior season. It always bothered me that I was the alternate wrestler at my weight. I was good, but not quite good enough. I had wonderful teammates, coaches, and a sense of community that made the unbearable practices bearable. However, after my ten years of wrestling with the same brothers, I felt lost and alone when trying to exercise. It inspired me to find that sense of community again while lifting and maintaining my fitness. I realized that my passion was in assisting others with their fitness, so I became a certified personal trainer. Shortly after, I found CrossFit, which led me to also becoming a level 1 trainer at CrossFit Credence. I am now sitting at 170 pounds and feel as if I have that sense of community and support again.
