I spent sixteen in years in the pool as a competitive swimmer, but towards the end of those sixteen years I was starting to crave variety. So during the summer of 2011 I caught the CrossFit Games on ESPN2, and instantly thought that that would be incredibly fun. Fast forward one year, and I get my mom and dad to watch them with me and they too thought it would be fun to try. At dinner one night my brother mentioned that Dave and Allie had a box, so my parents went on and called Dave to set up an intro. A couple days later they brought me in and I tried CrossFit for the first time and was hooked. The constant variety plus my internal fire and determination made every workout fun and challenging. Upon talking with Dave and Allie more, I realized I could bring my competitive nature to this sport and that is one thing I knew I’d miss when I stopped swimming. In my short time at CrossFit Credence, I’ve noticed incredible changes in myself and what I can do. I always try to instill my passion for CrossFit in the classes I coach, because if the group notices you’re fired up then they will get fired up as well. I owe it all to Dave and Allie taking a chance on me, and letting me learn on the fly. I couldn’t imagine working, or working out, with a more amazing group of people.
